How to Do Your Own Gorgeous Holiday Makeup

Holiday makeup

While you may wear your usual brown eyeshadow and jet black mascara to your 9 to 5, the holidays are the perfect time to break out of a makeup rut and go bold.  It doesn’t get any better than these seductive, sultry, sexy holiday eyes.  And the truth is, just by looking at these three shots, you too can make yourself look just as glam.

Don’t believe me?  Just follow these simple steps to stunning:

For starters, make sure you apply this eye makeup over an eye primer (I love EyeShadow Primer Potion by Urban Decay) and before foundation and blush or bronzer. This way any excess eye shadow can be easily wiped off without removing your other makeup. Also, comb and fill in your eyebrows with an eyebrow pencil if necessary.

Sweep silver metallic shadow over the entire lid, avoiding the brow area.  The perfect sparkly silver is 1- Colour Ultra Smoothing High Impact Eyeshadow by Christian Dior. Don’t forget to line the silver shadow completely underneath the eye.  Next take your white shadow and sweep over the brow area.   Blend both the silver and white into lid and eyebrow arch with a clean brush.  Now take your black eyeshadow and with a flat brush, pat from the center of the lid outwards and the around the outer corners of the lower rim. It is important to press or pat on eye shadow layer by layer and not to use a sweeping brush motion across the lid.

Take that brush that you used to blend the silver and white together before and now blend the black into the silver if it needs a little combining. Bobbi Brown makes a Cool Party Eye Palette that has a silver and a metallic black in it that is perfect for completing this look.

With black eyeliner, line the inner rim of your eye as well as the top of your eyelid.  Extend slightly for a cat eye effect.  Remember when extending the line to follow the natural line of your bottom lashes.  Next, curl your lashes (you should do this every day anyway because it truly opens up your eyes!) and then pile on the mascara (and fake lashes if you so choose).  An excellent mascara choice is Dior Show Black Out.

Finish the rest of your face the way you usually do and remember to keep lip color to a minimum to keep the emphasis on your gorgeous eyes!  Time to start batting those lashes, you are going to get tons of attention!
