Top 10 Ways to Increase Productivity

It’s the start of a brand new week.  Use these next seven days to organize yourself and increase your productivity at home and in the work place.  Here are the TOP 10 Tips to help you focus and increase productivity.

1.   Eliminate distractions.  Do not keep tons of web browsers open, stay off of social media and go on an information diet.  Skip the mindless internet surfing, instant messenger and blog reading.  You will be surprised at how much more time in your day that you find.

2. Complete the tasks you want to do least, first thing in the morning.  Avoid procrastination.  Just start – sometimes starting is the hardest part and once you get started you might be on a rolll!

3. Have a to-do list every day and prioritize it.  Nothing says productivity like crossing things off of a list!  And while you are writing things down, write down your goals and you will never need motivation!

4. Ask yourself if you are making the best use of your time.  If the answer is no, well then you most likely need to alter what you are doing.  If the answer is yes, well its going to be an even bigger boost to your productivity.

5. Organize your desk and office. The piles of paper around your desk can be a huge barrier on your productivity. Optimize your time by cleaning up, setting up systems, and dumping the junk.

6.  Outsource and delegate as much as possible.  It’s still getting things done, even if you aren’t the one actually doing them.

7. Focus on results.  Pareto’s law states that 80% of the outputs result from 20% of the inputs. This means that 20% of our actions result in 80% of the results. Focus on that 20%.

8. Tell others about your goals and you are instantly held accountable!

9. Find a mentor and model yourself after them.

10. Finally, love what you do – if you love it, you will always be productive.
