Throw Some Glitter in the Air - It’s National Unicorn Day
This day sneaks up on me every year, which is odd since I’m all about these majestic, magical creatures.
Unicorns are like horses, but with a horn on their forehead. And not just any horn, mind you. A magical horn that grants wishes and heals wounds. That's right, unicorns are basically walking, talking (well, neighing) miracle workers.
But that's not all. Unicorns are also incredibly cute. They have soft, fluffy manes and tails, and they come in all sorts of colors. Some are pink, some are blue, some are rainbow-colored. It's like they were designed by a team of fashion designers who said, "let's make the cutest animal possible, and give it a magical twist!"
So, how do we celebrate National Unicorn Day? Well, there are a few ways. Some people dress up as unicorns and parade around town, spreading joy and rainbows wherever they go. Others bake unicorn-themed treats, like cupcakes with rainbow frosting and edible unicorn horns. And some people simply spend the day watching movies about unicorns, like "The Last Unicorn" or "Legend."
Personally, I think the best way to celebrate National Unicorn Day is to spend some time with a real unicorn. Yes, I know what you're thinking. "But Laura, unicorns aren't real!" Ah, but that's where you're wrong. There are actually many unicorns living among us, disguised as regular horses.
Think about it. Have you ever seen a horse with an unusually shiny coat, or an extra-glamorous mane? That's probably a unicorn in disguise. And if you're lucky, they might just reveal their true form to you on National Unicorn Day.
Of course, if you don't happen to have a unicorn in your backyard (or if your neighbor's horse doesn't feel like transforming), there are still plenty of ways to celebrate. Here are a few suggestions:
Dress up like a unicorn (my personal favorite): Who says you need an actual unicorn to get in on the fun? Grab a rainbow tutu, some glittery makeup, and a horn headband, and you're good to go.
Have a unicorn-themed party: Invite your friends over for a unicorn-themed potluck. Ask everyone to bring a dish that's rainbow-colored (or just really cute). Set up a DIY photo booth with unicorn props, like a unicorn horn or a rainbow wig.
Watch a unicorn movie: There are plenty of movies out there featuring unicorns, from animated classics like "My Little Pony" to live-action adventures like "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone." Pick your favorite and settle in for a cozy night of unicorn-themed entertainment.
Make a unicorn craft: Whether you're good with a sewing machine or prefer to work with paper and glue, there are plenty of unicorn-themed crafts you can make. Try making a stuffed unicorn toy, a unicorn headband, or a unicorn pinata.
Watch the video below and learn more about the history of unicorns: Did you know that unicorns have been a part of mythology for thousands of years? Learn about the different cultures that have featured unicorns in their stories, and see how the unicorn has evolved over time.
However you choose to celebrate National Unicorn Day, just remember: it's all about having fun and embracing your inner unicorn. So go forth, spread some magic, and don't forget to sparkle!
