Laura Kronen believes in living life out loud. Homeschool mother of two, life coach, author, entrepreneur, type 1 diabetic, and founder of lifestyle company Be You Only Better, Laura is always evolving. She is currently on a mission to dispel the stereotypes surrounding homeschooling and to bring home education to the mainstream.
After spending almost two decades working in fashion PR and marketing in New York, Laura ventured out on her own and developed the award-winning children’s educational video series Baby Road Trip, as well as the maternity accessory brand, Belly Ups. Ten years ago, she certified to become a life coach and started her company, Be You Only Better, assisting those with self-confidence and self-esteem issues and individuals with entrepreneurial aspirations. She also serves as a mentor for people with diabetes who need help overcoming the challenges of living with the disease. And she recently added homeschool guidance to her growing list of coaching genres.
Besides authoring Homeschool Happily and Too Sweet: The Not-So-Serious Side to Diabetes, Laura is a lover of wine and tennis (although not at the same time). When not homeschooling her boys or working, she spends her spare time traveling, volunteering, enjoying the sunshine, and buying things in the middle of the night that she doesn’t need.
You’ll find her eclectic (and sometimes opinionated) energy all over social media, including on her YouTube channel, Super Cool Home School, which features good-vibe educational videos on homeschooling, diabetes, trivia, and sometimes just her stream of consciousness. Reflective of her life, Laura’s social networks are an intriguing potpourri, a little bit of everything.
Laura now lives in Atlanta, Georgia, with her husband, their two teenage boys, a rescue cat, and a rescue dog they found abandoned in front of a church. The cat and the dog are still trying to figure things out.
